Frequently asked questions
How do I make a photo 200 × 230 pixels and 20–50 KB?
Choose the “Photo · 200 × 230 px · 20–50 KB” preset, place the crop box over your face and press “Resize image”. The result is exactly 200 × 230 pixels and inside the KB range.
My signature photo has a grey background. Can it be cleaned?
Yes. Turn on “Whiten background” under “More options” to make the paper white and the ink darker before resizing.
What if my form counts 1 KB as 1000 bytes?
The file is kept inside the limit either way: below the maximum counting 1000 bytes per KB, and above the minimum counting 1024.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. It even works with the internet switched off.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android phones, iPhones, tablets and computers. Very large files may need a computer, because phones have less memory.
