Privacy Policy

Short version: we don’t collect your files or your personal data. There is nothing to collect, because everything runs on your device.

Your files

Files you open with PDF Salon are read into your browser’s memory and processed there. They are never uploaded to any server, and they are not saved to disk or browser storage. They are discarded when you click “Start over”, leave the tool or close the tab. You can confirm this in your browser’s developer tools (Network tab): no file data is sent anywhere.

Personal data

There are no accounts, sign-ups or forms that send data to us. We don’t use analytics, advertising, fingerprinting or tracking cookies, so we don’t show a cookie banner.

What is stored on your device

• Preferences (in localStorage): your colour theme, language, last-used tool and OCR language. Nothing else.
• App files (in the browser cache, via a service worker): the website’s code, the OCR engine, language data and the edge-detection library, so the tools work offline. These contain no personal data.

You can clear both at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is served as static files. Like any web host, the hosting provider may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and the page requested) for security and operations. Those logs never contain your documents.

Accounts and paid features

The tools are currently free and need no account. If we introduce accounts or paid features in the future, we will update this policy before they launch and explain exactly what information they need. Your files will still be processed on your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
