Frequently asked questions
Can I change the existing text?
Use Edit PDF text for that: it replaces the words themselves. Annotate PDF adds text, shapes, highlights and images on top of the page.
Can I add a picture or logo?
Yes. Choose “Image”, pick a PNG or JPG, then drag and resize it on the page.
Can I copy text from a scanned page?
Yes. Choose “Select text”: pages without text are read with OCR on your device, then you can drag to select, double-click a word or copy all the text on the page.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. It even works with the internet switched off.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android phones, iPhones, tablets and computers. Very large files may need a computer, because phones have less memory.
