Frequently asked questions

How do I get a PDF under 100 KB or 200 KB?

Choose “Target size” and pick the limit. The tool tries several settings and keeps the best quality that fits.

Will the text stay sharp?

Yes. Only pictures are recompressed; text and drawings stay unchanged and selectable.

Why didn’t my PDF get much smaller?

Files made mostly of text and vector graphics are already compact. If you need a smaller file anyway, allow converting pages to images under “More options”.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so your files stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. It even works with the internet switched off.

Is it free, and are there limits?

It is currently free, with no sign-up, no daily limit on files and no watermark added to your results.
